It begins with ideas.
Ideas born out of the beauty of our world and ideas inspired by its people. Over the years Christof has seen how ideas can be given form through the art of photography. It has inspired him to pursue photography as a means of expressing himself. He saw that through photography, he could realize the visions that become visible in those moments just before one falls asleep.
It started with his two grandfathers and their dabbling in the magic that is photography. His curiosity became intrigue and eventually evolved into a full-blown obsession.
A darkroom in the garage was followed by a bachelor’s degree in photography. Hard work and perseverance paved the way to Europe, where he had the privilege to learn from masters of photography in various fields of expertise.
Led by the pursuit of knowledge and understanding of light, Christof developed into a photographer with a passion for the conceptual image.
Christof now lives and works in Cape Town, but spends half of his time in Johannesburg.
